These engaging upper level classes investigate contemporary life using a contemporary practice of art. Through experimentation in a chosen art form, these young artists use their acquired skills to create original works. Students develop personal artist statements by considering ways in which art influences our perception and understanding of the human experience.

Dates and Times: September 13 – October 18; Sundays, 4:00 – 6:00pm

Turn up the Volume on your drawings by mastering the illusion of depth. Deeper darks and lighter lights control your drawings through contrast and contour. This upper level drawing class uses ebony pencils, charcoal, pastels, and chiaroscuro to produce still-life, portraiture and figure drawings. Previous experience with basic drawing or art class strongly encouraged. Tuition includes materials.
